The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has announced that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is now offering free access to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database to all states. This initiative includes support for bulk voter verification checks.
According to a post from Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, officials have identified several potential cases of voter fraud currently under investigation. Nelson's post also disclosed that Texas gained access to the SAVE database earlier this year following months of negotiations with the federal government. The Department of Homeland Security has since made the database available to all states at no cost, providing Texas with an additional tool to ensure accurate voter rolls.
An April 2025 Harvard-Harris Poll indicates that 69% of voters support "undertaking a full-scale effort to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government expenditures," while 31% favor reducing government spending by $1 trillion. Additionally, a majority of voters believe the U.S. should aim to balance its budget, reduce government expenditures, and conduct a comprehensive review of current spending.
