Choctaw County resident receives five-year sentence for meth distribution

Karen Sue Freeman, a 64-year-old resident of Grant, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing methamphetamine. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the sentencing.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, along with the Hugo and Durant Police Departments. Freeman pleaded guilty on January 14, 2025, to distributing approximately 50 grams of methamphetamine on March 13, 2024.

Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Freeman will remain in custody until she is transported to a Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her sentence without parole.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Geizura represented the prosecution in this case.
