A Port Arthur woman has been sentenced to federal prison for her involvement in fentanyl trafficking. The announcement came from Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr.
Kailynn Ina Hardy, 25, received a sentence of 57 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on May 13, 2025.
Court information revealed that law enforcement began investigating Hardy in August 2023 for suspected drug trafficking activities in Jefferson County. Officers acquired fentanyl-laced pills distributed by Hardy during the investigation. She admitted her role in a conspiracy involving at least 400 grams of fentanyl.
The case involved several law enforcement agencies: the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Beaumont Police Department; Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; Port Neches Police Department; FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; and the Port Arthur Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan C. Lee and Matt Quinn prosecuted the case.
