The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia has announced its 15th Annual Anti Violence Youth Summit, titled "Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful." The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at The Catholic University of America in the Pryzbyla Center. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m., with the program starting at 10:00 a.m.

U.S. Attorney Ed Martin Jr. emphasized the summit's goal to engage youth in efforts to improve safety and aesthetics in Washington, D.C.: “The Youth Summit empowers everyone, especially our youth, to take part in the President’s initiative to Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful.”

Supervisory Community Outreach Specialist Baretta Francis highlighted the summit's purpose: “Now in its 15th year, the Youth Summit empowers young people with vital information and tools to build safer, stronger communities.” The event aims to address issues such as opioid abuse prevention, gun violence prevention, and mental health awareness by bringing together youth with community organizations and law enforcement.

Jacques Moore from The Catholic University of America expressed appreciation for their continued collaboration with the U.S. Attorney's Office on this annual event: “The Catholic University of America values its years-long partnership with the USAO on the Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful Youth Summit held each summer on our campus in Northeast DC.”
