U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of 239 individuals during a recent weeklong operation aimed at enhancing public safety in the Los Angeles area. The operation, conducted from May 4 to May 10, was a collaborative effort involving ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations along with various interagency partners.

The focus was on identifying, detaining, and removing individuals deemed dangerous criminals within Los Angeles and its surrounding cities. ICE highlighted the importance for criminal aliens in the U.S. illegally to utilize the CBP Home app for self-deportation to avoid arrest.

Among those arrested were Lan Pham, a 49-year-old from Vietnam, convicted of involuntary manslaughter and other offenses; Manuel Angel Rodriguez Martinez, a 40-year-old from El Salvador, accused of aggravated rape of a minor or incapacitated individual; Jorge Artero Meza-Rodriquez, a 52-year-old from Mexico, convicted of vehicle theft and illegal reentry into the United States; and Sung Park, a 52-year-old from Korea, convicted of voluntary manslaughter.

The operation received support from several federal law enforcement agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the U.S. Marshals Service. State and local law enforcement also contributed to the efforts.

ICE encourages members of the public to report crime and suspicious activities by calling 866-347-2423 or completing an online tip form. Updates on ICE's missions can be followed on social media at @ICEgov for general information or @EROLosAngeles specifically for Los Angeles operations.
