Brothers charged with armed robbery in Shreveport

A federal grand jury has indicted two men for their roles in robberies at two Shreveport stores, according to Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook. Kevin Terrell Lewis, also known as "Kelvin Lewis," 38, from Arlington, Texas, and his brother Larry Dewayne Lewis, 44, from Shreveport, face charges of robbery and conspiracy related to the use of firearms during violent crimes. Kelvin Lewis faces additional charges for using firearms during these incidents.

The indictment details that on December 23, 2024, the brothers allegedly robbed approximately $500 from the owner/manager of Pull-Up Liquor on Hearne Avenue in Shreveport as he was closing the store. Another incident on January 22, 2025, involved robbing prescription drugs and a work van from a delivery person at Walgreens on Line Avenue.

Charges against Kelvin Lewis include using semi-automatic firearms in these violent acts. The indictment further claims both men conspired to use firearms during the robberies.

If convicted, they could each face between 10 years to life imprisonment and fines up to $250,000. Larry Dewayne Lewis is currently held in federal custody following a separate charge for firearm possession by a felon.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Shreveport Police Department are leading the ongoing investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys J. Aaron Crawford and William C. Gaskins are prosecuting the case.

An indictment is an accusation only; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
