Brandon Spence, known as "Spun," has been sentenced to 56 months in federal prison for distributing fentanyl and cocaine. The sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport, followed by three years of supervised release.

According to court records, Spence was previously sentenced in February 2019 to 24 months for unlawful firearm possession as a felon. After his release in February 2020, he was involved in an incident on December 7, 2020, where Hartford Police surveillance recorded him shooting an individual in the leg and stealing their vehicle. This led to an additional sentence of 24 months for violating his supervised release conditions on May 28, 2021.

In early 2024, the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force conducted controlled purchases of fentanyl and crack cocaine from Spence. He was arrested on April 3, 2024, after a search of his residence and vehicles uncovered distribution quantities of drugs.

Spence pleaded guilty on January 28, 2025, to charges related to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl. He has remained detained since his arrest.

The investigation was carried out by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force alongside the Hartford Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Shan Patel prosecuted the case.
