Jalique Wiseman and Leon Kirksey, both 20 years old, have pleaded guilty to charges related to a series of robberies on the Metropolitan Branch Trail. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Wiseman and Kirksey admitted guilt in Superior Court to three counts each of armed robbery and robbery. Their sentencing is set for August 8, 2025, before Superior Court Judge Jennifer Di Toro.

Evidence presented by the government showed that between October 2 and November 23, 2023, Wiseman and Kirksey were involved in six separate robbery incidents along or near the trail. They used either physical violence or firearms to rob victims of cell phones and other belongings. Additionally, they coerced victims into providing passcodes to access financial accounts for unauthorized money transfers.

A distinctive red, white, and blue Moncler jacket and Penny Hardaway shoes worn by Wiseman during some robberies were noted as part of the evidence.

The plea agreement concludes an investigation into these robberies conducted by the Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kraig Ahalt is prosecuting the case.
