Matthew R. Molsen United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska
Alexzandra Blanco, a 24-year-old resident of Norfolk, Nebraska, received a sentence of 240 months in federal prison on May 14, 2025. The sentencing took place in Omaha, Nebraska, under the jurisdiction of United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher. Blanco was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury.
United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods stated that "after Blanco is released from prison, she will begin a 3-year term of supervised release." Additionally, Blanco is required to forfeit $4,200 in U.S. currency and a 2019 Dodge Ram truck as proceeds from drug activities.
The charges stemmed from an incident on March 17, 2023, when Blanco and her boyfriend Tremain Monroe were involved in providing fentanyl at a gathering after St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. A victim overdosed but was revived using Narcan. Subsequently, law enforcement purchased M-30 fentanyl pills from Monroe three times in April 2023.
A search warrant executed on May 3, 2023, at the residence shared by Monroe and Blanco led to the seizure of significant quantities of drugs and cash: "221 fentanyl pills," "drug paraphernalia," "more than five pounds of methamphetamine," and "$4,200."
Blanco faced conviction following a jury trial held in February 2025. Her co-defendant Monroe pleaded guilty earlier to similar charges related to fentanyl distribution and was sentenced to 210 months' imprisonment by Judge Buescher on October 23, 2024.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration Overdose Drug Task Force which includes personnel from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Omaha Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
