Ismail J. Ramsey, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California
Adesola Kehinde, a resident of Alameda, has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The sentence was delivered by U.S. District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín.
Kehinde, aged 38, was initially charged in January 2024 and later in May 2024. He pleaded guilty on December 16, 2024, to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, violating 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). According to the plea agreement, Kehinde admitted that officers from the Alameda Police Department detained him on January 9, 2024. At that time, he was found seated in his car outside his apartment building while on parole after serving a state prison sentence for human trafficking of a minor, threats with intent to terrorize, and robbery. A search of his vehicle revealed a loaded Glock pistol with one round in the chamber and six rounds inside the magazine.
The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Patrick D. Robbins and FBI Special Agent in Charge Sanjay Virmani.
In addition to the prison term, Judge Martínez-Olguín imposed a three-year period of supervised release on Kehinde and ordered the forfeiture of the firearm and ammunition.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonah Ross is handling the prosecution with assistance from Amala James. The case results from an investigation conducted by the FBI and the Alameda Police Department.
