S. Lane Tucker, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney's Office District of Alaska
A suspended Anchorage attorney, Justin Facey, was arrested following a federal grand jury indictment. He is charged with maintaining a drug-involved premise for distributing and using controlled substances and possessing firearms as a prohibited person in connection with drug trafficking.
Court documents reveal that law enforcement became aware of Facey in June 2023. He allegedly facilitated a drug trafficking organization led by Heraclio Sanchez-Rodriguez, a California prisoner indicted on federal drug trafficking and murder charges in October 2023. Over 60 other defendants have been charged related to this organization.
The indictment against Facey alleges that from April 2024 to 2025, he used his Anchorage residence to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. It further claims that on April 30, 2025, Facey possessed four firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes while knowing he was addicted to methamphetamine.
Facey's legal practice was suspended on February 24, 2025, due to numerous bar complaints. He faces charges including maintaining a drug-involved premises and possession of firearms both in furtherance of a crime and as a prohibited person. His initial court appearance is scheduled for May 22, 2025, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kyle F. Reardon in Alaska's District Court. If convicted, he could face five years to life imprisonment.
The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney William Narus of the District of Oregon; DEA Seattle Field Division Special Agent David Reames; and FBI Anchorage Field Office Special Agent Rebecca Day.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska has recused itself from the case except for certain personnel involvement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven D. Clymer from New York's Northern District has been appointed as Special Attorney to assist with recused cases under Deputy Attorney General or Acting U.S. Attorney Narus's direction.
Investigations are being conducted by the DEA Anchorage District Office and FBI Anchorage Field Office with support from the Anchorage Police Department. The public can provide information about Facey's alleged activities through contact numbers provided by authorities.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Adam Alexander and Jennifer Ivers are prosecuting this case.
It is important to note that an indictment is an allegation; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
