David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, has announced the sentencing of Husani Foote, a 30-year-old resident of Naugatuck. Foote was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Omar A. Williams in Hartford to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for narcotics trafficking.
The investigation revealed that Foote was involved in drug trafficking activities around Waterbury. He was initially arrested on state charges on April 13, 2023. On that day, law enforcement conducted a court-authorized search at his residence on Aetna Street and his vehicle parked outside. The search uncovered over 34,000 baggies containing a mixture of fentanyl, heroin, and xylazine; approximately 160 grams of crack cocaine and six grams of powder cocaine; various items used for processing and packaging narcotics; a loaded 9mm handgun; and more than $122,000 in cash.
Foote has been held since his federal arrest on June 12, 2023. He pleaded guilty on May 13, 2024, to possession with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl.
The investigation was carried out by the DEA New Haven Task Force in collaboration with the Waterbury Police Department, the Naugatuck Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Natasha M. Freismuth prosecuted the case.
