A Revere man has been sentenced to over five years in prison for illegally possessing ammunition related to a shooting incident in Everett. Kenneth Munoz, aged 27, received a sentence of 70 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. This sentencing was delivered by U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young.
Munoz had previously pleaded guilty in December 2024 to one count of being a felon in possession of ammunition. The charges stem from an event on January 2, 2022, when three individuals fired more than 20 shots in an Everett neighborhood, hitting multiple houses with stray bullets. Munoz was identified as one of the shooters involved.
Due to his prior convictions, including a 2017 state conviction for assault and battery on a family member and malicious destruction of property, Munoz is legally prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' Boston Field Division; Everett Police Chief Paul Strong; and Chelsea Police Chief Keith E. Houghton. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Hoefle prosecuted the case.
