The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that Ivone Monforte Leal, also known as Yvonne Monforte and Ivonne Monforte Stefany, has pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry. Leal, a 34-year-old Mexican national residing unlawfully in Wagoner County, Oklahoma, faces a potential sentence of up to ten years imprisonment and a fine not exceeding $250,000.
The charge stems from an investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division alongside the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office. According to the indictment, on March 26, 2025, Leal was discovered in the United States after having been previously removed twice without obtaining permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America. This initiative seeks to combat illegal immigration and eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators. It integrates efforts from the Department's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Leal's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and ordered a presentence investigation report.
A U.S. District Court Judge will later determine her sentence based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal considerations.
Leal remains in custody under the United States Marshals Service until sentencing occurs.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the government in this case.
