Homegrown Family Foods has announced a recall of its Shore Lunch Oven Style Breader & Batter Mix due to the presence of undeclared milk. The product, packaged in 6-ounce boxes, poses a risk to individuals with milk allergies or severe sensitivities. Consuming this product could lead to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.
The affected product was distributed across retail stores in several states, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Distribution occurred between April 29, 2024 and May 1, 2025.
The boxes are marked with Best By dates ranging from April 23, 2025 through February 25, 2026. They carry the UPC Code 2473912000 and specific lot numbers: RP117050, RP120012, RP120011, RP120013, RP123249, RP123389, RP129004, RP129005, and RP129006. The Best By date and Lot Code are located on the top of the box while the UPC is on the bottom.
To date, one illness has been reported related to this issue; however, the individual has since recovered. The recall was prompted after a consumer reported an allergic reaction experienced by her daughter on April 23rd. It was found that the packaging did not properly label milk as an ingredient.
Consumers who have purchased this product and have dairy allergies or sensitivities should refrain from consuming it. They are advised to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
