New Orleans man indicted for alleged cocaine distribution

Larsen Farrell, a 35-year-old resident of New Orleans, was indicted on May 30, 2025, for possession with intent to distribute over five kilograms of cocaine. The charges were announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.

Farrell is charged under 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A). If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and could be sentenced to life imprisonment. He may also face a fine up to $10 million, at least five years of supervised release, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.

The indictment states that on or about May 22, 2025, in the Eastern District of Louisiana, Farrell knowingly possessed more than five kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute it.

Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that the defendant's guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case is being investigated by multiple agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Border Patrol, Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Gretna Major Crimes Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Rachal Cassagne from the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
