Lindsey Burke, Ph.D., joins as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Programs. She previously spent 17 years at the Heritage Foundation, where she directed the Center for Education Policy. Her experience includes numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and testimonies before Congress. Burke holds degrees from Hollins University, the University of Virginia, and George Mason University.
Jeffrey Andrade is appointed as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Planning, and Innovation in the Office of Postsecondary Education. With nearly four decades of experience in federal education policy, Andrade has worked on significant legislation such as the Higher Education Act and Workforce Investment Act. He is a first-generation college graduate from The American University.
Christopher J. McCaghren takes on the role of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Higher Education Programs. Previously CEO of Higher Education Solutions, McCaghren has served in various educational leadership roles including Acting Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education during Trump's first administration. His academic credentials include a doctorate from Vanderbilt University.
Nicholas “Nick” Moore is named Deputy Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education. Moore's recent role was director of Alabama’s Governor’s Office of Education and Workforce Transformation under Governor Kay Ivey. His background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a Master’s from Cornell University.
Jason Delisle becomes Chief Economist and Senior Adviser in the Office of the Under Secretary. Delisle has held senior positions at think tanks like the American Enterprise Institute and Urban Institute, focusing on higher education finance.
Casey K. Sacks, Ph.D., is appointed Senior Policy Advisor for Workforce and AI. As President of BridgeValley Community and Technical College, Sacks brings expertise in workforce development and community college administration.
Meir Katz joins as Senior Advisor in the Office for Civil Rights. Katz's previous roles include Senior Counsel at OCR and Administrative Appeals Judge at HHS.
