Antonio Jones, Jr., a 25-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail theft and possession of a postal service key. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. The charges carry a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Franz M. Wright, who is overseeing the case, detailed that on October 2, 2024, Jones collaborated with Eric Michael Robinson and Lamor Runell Bolden to steal mail from receptacles in Cheektowaga, New York. The group also possessed a key intended for authorized access to these mail receptacles.
On the night of the incident, Jones accompanied Robinson and Bolden to a mail facility in Cheektowaga at around 1:00 a.m. Robinson drove while Jones and Bolden were passengers. Upon arrival, Robinson parked behind blue collection mailboxes outside the facility. Jones used the stolen key to open the boxes and steal mail as Bolden kept watch.
Shortly after leaving the scene, law enforcement stopped their vehicle and discovered various pieces of opened and unopened mail inside. Jones admitted that he and his accomplices had used the stolen key at other locations within Western New York.
Robinson and Bolden have already been convicted for their roles in the crime and are awaiting sentencing.
The investigation leading to these convictions was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service under Special Agent-in-Charge Ketty Larco-Ward from the Boston Division, along with assistance from Chief Brian Coons' Cheektowaga Police Department.
Jones is scheduled for sentencing on October 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., presided over by Judge John L. Sinatra Jr.
