Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared details about several criminal illegal aliens apprehended during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Los Angeles, California. These arrests took place on June 9 and 10 amid ongoing riots and attacks on federal law enforcement officers.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, "Murderers, pedophiles, and drug traffickers. These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect. How much longer will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens?" She added that "Secretary Noem has a message to the LA rioters: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE will continue to enforce the law and arrest criminal illegal aliens."

The following individuals were among those arrested:

- Gerardo Antonio-Palacios from Mexico was detained by ICE Los Angeles with prior convictions for homicide and burglary. He had been deported before.

- Mab Khleb, a 53-year-old from Cambodia, has a record including transport of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances, lewd action with a child, and battery.

- Sang Louangprasert, a 66-year-old from Laos, has been convicted for lewd acts with a child under 14 in Fresno, CA, and inflicting corporal injury in Santa Barbara, CA.

- Antonio Benitez-Ugarte from Mexico was convicted of drug trafficking.

- Alberto Morales-Mejia from Mexico has convictions for manufacturing amphetamine along with past arrests for document fraud and weapon possession.

- Raul Teran-Guillen from Mexico was previously arrested for human smuggling and money laundering.

- Carlos Alberto Escobar-Flores, a 43-year-old from Honduras, has a conviction for grand theft involving money or property.

- Jose Jimenez-Alvarado, a 48-year-old from Honduras, holds a felony conviction for two counts of theft.

These actions come as part of ICE's ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws despite challenges posed by recent unrest in Los Angeles.
