Reagan T. Fondren Acting United States Attorney for the Western District Of Tennessee | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee
Quantrese Brazzell, a 48-year-old resident of Memphis, has been sentenced to 150 months in federal prison for drug and firearm-related offenses. The announcement was made by Interim U.S. Attorney Joseph C. Murphy, Jr. for the Western District of Tennessee.
The charges against Brazzell stem from an incident on December 31, 2022, when Memphis Police Department officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at East Georgia Avenue and Walnut Street. Upon arrival, officers found Brazzell as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. A search revealed approximately 500 pressed pills confirmed to be fentanyl and a loaded Springfield Arms Saint 5.56 caliber rifle.
A federal grand jury indicted Brazzell on December 12, 2023, with two counts: unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute under 21 U.S.C. § 841 and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm under 18 U.S.C. §922(g).
Following a four-day trial, Brazzell was found guilty on both counts. On June 17, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Samuel H. Mays sentenced him to 150 months in prison with an additional three years of supervised release consecutive to an existing sentence related to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
