The House Select Committee on China is set to hold a hearing titled "Algorithms and Authoritarians: Why U.S. AI Must Lead." The session will take place on Wednesday, June 25, at 9:00 A.M. in the U.S. Capitol Building (HVC-210).
The committee aims to explore how the United States can surpass authoritarian regimes, such as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), in achieving leadership and innovation in artificial intelligence. Witnesses scheduled to testify include Dr. Thomas Mahnken, President & CEO of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments; Mr. Mark Beall, Jr., President of Government Affairs at The AI Policy Network; and Mr. Jack Clark, Co-Founder and Head of Policy at Anthropic.
