Ohio man sentenced to over eight years for methamphetamine possession

Demarcus R. Brown, a 22-year-old from Akron, Ohio, has been sentenced to 100 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Court documents and statements revealed that Brown was present at a residence in Marshall County during a search by investigators. Authorities seized over 300 grams of methamphetamine and nearly 12 grams of fentanyl at the location. Brown also has prior convictions related to firearms.

Following his prison term, Brown will be subjected to three years of supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid handled the prosecution on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, which is funded by HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas).

The case was overseen by U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey.
