On June 22, 2025, the Department of State released a Worldwide Caution Security Alert urging U.S. citizens overseas to be more vigilant.

The alert highlights that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has caused travel disruptions and occasional airspace closures in the Middle East. There is also a risk of demonstrations targeting U.S. citizens and interests abroad.

"The Department of State advises U.S. citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution," the alert states.

U.S. citizens are encouraged to review the Travel Advisory, country information, and any recent security alerts when planning their travels by visiting the official website at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages.html.
