Juniata County man faces federal drug trafficking and firearm charges

A federal grand jury has indicted Larry L. Grove, Jr., a 36-year-old resident of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, on charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offenses. The indictment was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that the indictment includes eight counts against Grove. Six counts accuse him of distributing cocaine and methamphetamine on various occasions from December 2024 to May 2025. Additionally, it is alleged that on May 20, 2025, Grove intended to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine along with marijuana. The indictment also claims that Grove possessed firearms despite having a prior felony conviction.

The investigation into these allegations was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania State Police Troop G VICE Unit, and the Mifflin County Drug Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Dukes is responsible for prosecuting the case.

This legal action falls under Operation Take Back America, a national initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations. This operation leverages resources from the Department of Justice's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

If convicted of the most serious charge in the indictment, Grove faces a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison, followed by supervised release and a fine. Sentencing will be determined by a judge based on federal sentencing statutes and guidelines.

It is important to note that indictments are only allegations; individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
