Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency Chairwoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) addressed a hearing focused on the efforts to codify reforms by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The hearing, titled “Locking in the DOGE Cuts: Ending Waste, Fraud, and Abuse for Good,” emphasized the $180 billion savings identified by DOGE through federal government cuts.

Chairwoman Greene urged Congress to solidify these cuts to enhance transparency and reduce government spending. She remarked, "I certainly wish that my Democrat colleagues felt the same way as their former Democrat leaders felt and worked to try to reduce our deficit and reduce the size of our government."

Greene criticized her Democratic colleagues for opposing DOGE's initiatives, stating, "They’re for big government, big spending, and doing nothing for the American people." She highlighted DOGE's role in curbing wasteful federal expenditures and praised former President Trump's establishment of DOGE via Executive Order.

The Chairwoman noted that DOGE has saved $180 billion within months and stressed the importance of addressing the national debt. "We need to make sure we lock in those savings," she said. Greene also discussed a recent $9 billion rescission request sent by the Administration to Congress aimed at preventing funds from reaching certain organizations.

Further actions were called for by Greene, who stated that more needs to be done beyond H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025. She mentioned that rightsizing efforts have reduced federal staff positions significantly, resulting in decreased discretionary spending.

Greene concluded with a call for institutionalizing anti-waste measures: "We should make that a permanent battle. We should institutionalize the battle against waste, fraud and abuse in Government." The Chairwoman highlighted DOGE's work with agencies to improve fraud detection and promote transparency through public updates on flagged financial activities.
