U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry intercepted cocaine valued at over $1.5 million, officials announced on June 24, 2025. The discovery was made at the Colombia Solidarity Bridge on June 22 when officers directed a 2006 Utility trailer for further inspection.

Port Director Alberto Flores praised the officers' efforts, stating, “Thanks to the vigilance and dedication of our CBP officers, a significant amount of cocaine was intercepted before it reached our communities.” He emphasized their role in maintaining border security and preventing narcotics from entering the country.

During the secondary inspection, CBP officers used canine units and non-intrusive examination techniques to uncover 50 packages containing approximately 114.37 pounds of suspected cocaine inside the trailer. The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,527,139.

The narcotics have been confiscated by CBP as Homeland Security Investigations special agents continue their investigation into the seizure.

CBP is recognized as America's primary law enforcement organization with over 65,000 personnel tasked with safeguarding borders across land, air, and sea. They facilitate legal travel and trade while enhancing national security through various means including innovation and collaboration.
