Salt Lake City man sentenced for multiple convenience store robberies

Andrew Armani Deionte Rowe, a 29-year-old resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, received a sentence of 57 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for robbing several 7-Eleven stores in the Salt Lake Valley during 2023. U.S. District Court Judge Jill N. Parish delivered the sentence after Rowe pleaded guilty to four counts of interference with commerce by robbery in September 2024.

Court documents and statements from Rowe's plea and sentencing hearings reveal that between September 12 and September 27, 2023, he committed multiple robberies at different 7-Eleven locations. During these incidents, Rowe threatened store clerks to obtain money. On September 12, he locked the doors of a Salt Lake City store and handed the clerk a note stating, “Do as I say, or you will lose your life.” He also robbed another store in Millcreek on the same day using a gun to intimidate the clerk. Further robberies occurred on September 14 and September 27 at additional locations.

Rowe was apprehended on October 11, 2023. Investigators recovered clothing matching what he wore during the robberies and seized a BB gun resembling a Glock firearm used in his crimes.

Acting U.S Attorney Felice John Viti for the District of Utah commented on the case: “No individual should feel unsafe while at work. Mr. Rowe threatened and intimidated others for his personal gain and then repeated his criminal behavior three more times." Special Agent in Charge Mehtab Syed with the Salt Lake City FBI added: “It’s fortunate Mr. Rowe didn’t physically hurt or kill anyone during his crime spree, although the emotional toll on the victims will be long-lasting.”

The investigation was conducted by the Salt Lake City Police Department, Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake, and the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office. The prosecution was handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing gun violence and violent crime through collaboration among law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
