Honduran national faces charges for unlawful reentry into the United States

A Honduran national, Ever Calderon Ramirez, was arrested for unlawful reentry into the United States after two prior deportations, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack. Calderon Ramirez, 27, who resided unlawfully in Manchester, faced federal charges of unlawful reentry and appeared in federal court.

Charging documents revealed that Calderon Ramirez was deported to Honduras on April 7, 2017, and again on September 28, 2018. He was encountered by law enforcement on September 22, 2024, in New Hampshire while driving a moped with two young children without helmets.

The statute under which he is charged provides for a sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a fine reaching $250,000. Sentencing is determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.

The investigation was led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Hunter is prosecuting the case.

This arrest is part of Operation Take Back America. The initiative aims to combat illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) while protecting communities from violent crime through resources from the Department's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The allegations in the charging documents remain accusations at this stage; Calderon Ramirez is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
