Erixon O. Menjivar-Alfaro, a 20-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on June 25, 2025, for selling firearms to a felon. The sentencing took place in federal court in Omaha with United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presiding over the case. Menjivar-Alfaro received a sentence of 51 months' imprisonment followed by a three-year term of supervised release. It is important to note that there is no parole in the federal system.

The charges against Menjivar-Alfaro stemmed from his actions between April 11 and October 3, 2023. During this period, he sold four firearms to a confidential source associated with the Omaha Police Department who was known to be a convicted felon. These transactions occurred within Menjivar-Alfaro's vehicle.

On three separate occasions, Menjivar-Alfaro met with the confidential source at a Walmart parking lot near 50th and L streets in Omaha. On April 11, he sold a Mack-11 pistol; on May 17, he sold a Glock 43 handgun; and on September 7, he sold a Glock-style Polymer80 9mm handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine. On October 3, outside of a residence near 20th and A streets, he completed the sale of a Mini Draco AK-47-style pistol chambered in caliber 7.62x39 with both high-capacity magazine and ammunition.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that collaborates across all levels of law enforcement to reduce violent crime and gun violence while fostering safer communities. Since its enhancement on May 26, 2021, PSN has focused on building trust within communities, supporting organizations aimed at preventing violence before it occurs, setting strategic enforcement priorities and measuring outcomes.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alongside the Omaha Police Department.
