Ahead of President Trump's visit to Alligator Alcatraz, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has spotlighted some of the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Florida. This new detention facility significantly increases capacity for holding detainees.
"Alligator Alcatraz, and other facilities like it, will give us the capability to lock up some of the worst scumbags who entered our country under the previous administration," stated DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. She added that the expansion of facilities and bed space is made possible through a partnership with Florida, aiming to "Make America safe again."
Several individuals arrested by ICE Miami are highlighted as examples of those who may be detained at Alligator Alcatraz:
- Santo Villaba-Reyes from Venezuela was convicted of homicide.
- Alberto Godinez-Lopez from Guatemala was also convicted of homicide.
- Johnny Dieudonne from Haiti faced charges for kidnapping-false imprisonment.
- Jan Veslino from the Philippines was convicted for obscene communication-traveling to meet a minor for sex.
