Anthony Burris, a 34-year-old resident of Jamestown, New York, has pleaded guilty to two counts of enticing travel to engage in sexual activity. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. The charges carry a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maeve E. Huggins, who is managing the case, detailed that between January and March 11, 2021, Burris coerced a woman identified as Victim 1 into performing commercial sex acts. Burris allegedly used threats of physical violence and manipulated her drug addiction by providing or withholding controlled substances. During this period, he also provided transportation, housing, a phone, and food to Victim 1 who was homeless at the time. In return for these provisions, Victim 1 engaged in commercial sex acts and handed over the earnings to Burris. He advertised her services on Skipthegames.com with sexually suggestive images and transported her across various locations in Western New York and Pennsylvania for these activities.
Burris similarly coerced another individual referred to as Victim 2 from June 2020 until March 11, 2021. Like Victim 1, Victim 2 was threatened with violence and manipulated through her addiction to controlled substances while being homeless. She performed commercial sex acts for which she gave the proceeds to Burris. He posted advertisements for her on Skipthegames.com and transported her across different locations including Pennsylvania.
The investigation leading to this plea involved multiple law enforcement agencies: the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff James B. Quattrone; Homeland Security Investigations under Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan; the Amherst Police Department headed by Chief Scott Chamberlin; and the Millcreek Police Department in Pennsylvania under Chief Carter Mook.
Sentencing is set for October 8, 2025, before Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
