A California man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, as announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Marvin Isaac Dagoc, 27, from Lakeside, California, is accused of enticing a minor into illicit sexual activities and traveling to Lycoming County for such purposes in March 2025. Additionally, he is charged with producing child pornography on March 17, 2025.
Acting United States Attorney John Gurganus provided details of the indictment which alleges these actions took place between January and March 2025. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin following investigations conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police.
This legal action falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. This program unites resources from federal, state, and local levels to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
If convicted, Dagoc could face up to life imprisonment under federal law, along with supervised release after imprisonment and possible fines. However, indictments are merely allegations at this stage; all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
