U.S. Senators Roger Wicker and Jack Reed have announced the schedule for the markup of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. The process will commence on July 8th, with portions of the NDAA being reviewed by subcommittees on specific dates.
The Senate Armed Services Committee, led by Chairman Roger Wicker, R-Miss., and Ranking Member Jack Reed, D-R.I., will oversee this process. "There will be a committee vote to close portions of the markup," according to their joint statement.
Subcommittee considerations are set for Tuesday, July 8th, focusing on Airland, Seapower, Strategic Forces, and Readiness. On Wednesday, July 9th, Personnel and Cyber issues will be addressed.
The full committee will deliberate on Wednesday, July 9th and may extend to Thursday, July 10th if necessary.
