U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel (Michael) Leiter. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two nations in energy and artificial intelligence.
"U.S. Energy Dominance demands the advancement of artificial intelligence," said Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum. He emphasized the importance of this partnership for innovation in both the energy sector and AI, highlighting its potential to transform global energy dominance for America and its allies.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright added, “President Trump and the National Energy Dominance Council are excited to announce this partnership on AI and energy security with Israel and the United States, advancing our shared vision of global energy addition and AI innovation.” He noted that this agreement would enable both countries to leverage their research institutions, technology, and energy sectors.
The Memorandum outlines several areas for cooperation, including analyzing rising energy demand due to data centers, grid optimization opportunities, AI-enabled cybersecurity tools, sharing best practices in AI use within energy infrastructure, and launching bilateral pilot projects.
