Border Patrol seizes over 800 pounds of marijuana at Texas-Mexico border

U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector have seized over 800 pounds of marijuana and made 15 arrests in recent enforcement actions. The operations took place from July 5 to July 8, 2025, along the Texas-Mexico border.

“These seizures represent a significant disruption to drug trafficking networks operating in our area of responsibility,” said Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez. “Our agents are committed to preventing dangerous narcotics from reaching communities streets.”

The confiscated drugs and arrested individuals were processed following Border Patrol guidelines, with all cases referred to federal agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
