The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced Bryan Bedford as its new Administrator. Bedford, who will oversee a workforce of over 40,000 employees, is tasked with maintaining the safety and efficiency of the national airspace system.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the FAA team. I have a deep respect for the important work FAA employees do to protect the safety and efficiency of our national airspace,” stated Bedford.

With more than 35 years in aviation, including 26 years as CEO of Republic Airways, Bedford will collaborate with Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy to implement a modern air traffic control system.

“I look forward to working with Secretary Duffy and admire his leadership and commitment to delivering this new system within the next three to four years,” Bedford remarked. “We’re building a modern, resilient FAA—one that embraces innovation and is ready for the future demands of aviation.”

Bedford plans to visit FAA facilities nationwide to engage with employees and gain insights into upcoming challenges and opportunities. “Building trust and delivering results together will be our focus,” he added.

Chris Rocheleau, who previously served as Acting Administrator, will now assume the role of Deputy Administrator in support of Bedford.
