Two suspected smugglers have been apprehended in Cd. Juarez following a collaborative effort between U.S. and Mexican authorities. The arrests were made on July 9 after Mexican officials received intelligence from the U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector Targeted Intelligence Division and Foreign Operations Branch about two known smugglers near the border.

The individuals, allegedly linked to the "La Empresa" criminal organization, were found with three loaded handguns, ammunition, and $2,000 in cash. They are currently detained in Cd. Juarez and face charges of illegal possession of weapons and bribery.

"This cooperation with our Government of Mexico counterparts is yielding results that will make both sides of shared border community safer," stated El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar. He emphasized the importance of information sharing to dismantle criminal organizations in the region.

The public is encouraged to report criminal activities anonymously by calling 915-314-8194 or using WhatsApp, with lines open 24 hours a day.
