President Trump praised the First Lady's leadership during the roundtable, stating: "We have a wonderful First Lady. She’s done a great job as First Lady, and she’s a very special woman."
First Lady Melania Trump expressed her sympathy to those impacted by the floods: "My deepest sympathy to all of the parents who lost beautiful, young souls... Our Nation is grieving with you."
She shared her experiences meeting families earlier that day: "We just met with the wonderful families. We prayed with them. We hugged. We held hands... I will be back—I promised them."
During the visit, Mrs. Trump received a charm bracelet from the Hotze Family in memory of young girls who lost their lives, as well as a Camp Mystic Song Book.
