A McAllen man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.
Narciso Dominguez III, aged 26, pleaded guilty on March 27. U.S. District Judge Drew B. Tipton ordered Dominguez to serve 120 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. During the hearing, the court noted the large quantity of cocaine trafficked by Dominguez and heard evidence linking him to a larger drug trafficking organization.
On May 23, 2024, Dominguez packaged 19 kilograms of cocaine for distribution using simple shipping materials like boxes and bubble wrap. Authorities observed him purchasing these materials and surveilled stash houses in McAllen. He admitted he knew the packages contained narcotics.
Authorities stopped him less than a week later and discovered 43.35 kilograms of cocaine during a search of his vehicle. A subsequent search of a residence in McAllen led to the seizure of an additional 229 kilograms. Dominguez admitted to mailing approximately 100 kilograms of cocaine daily across the United States.
Dominguez will remain in custody pending transfer to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.
The Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Jose A. Garcia prosecuted the case.
