MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Cody Lee Pritchett, a 34-year-old resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a charge of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. This charge carries a potential penalty of up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The indictment accused Pritchett of knowingly possessing various firearms and ammunition on February 4, 2025. These included a .22 caliber Derringer, a semi-automatic rifle, a short-barreled rifle, and several rounds of ammunition. This possession occurred after Pritchett had been previously convicted of an offense punishable by more than one year in prison.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered.
Pritchett's sentence will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors. Meanwhile, Pritchett has been released on bond with conditions pending sentencing.
