ICE arrests El Salvadorian national convicted of child pornography

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations in New England has arrested Victor Vasquez Cordova, a national of El Salvador and a registered sex offender. Cordova, who has a prior conviction for possession of child sexual abuse material, was detained on July 10 at his home in Everett, Massachusetts.

The arrest was carried out by ICE HSI personnel in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service. Cordova, 54, is facing immigration violations following his entry into the United States as a lawful permanent resident on December 18, 1983.

Cordova's conviction for possession of child pornography occurred on March 31, 2022. He received an 18-month probation sentence and was mandated to register as a sex offender. Currently, he is held in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge.
