The Department of Homeland Security has announced the arrest and removal of Pedro Trejo Reyes, a convicted child rapist and criminal illegal alien from Mexico, by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Houston. Reyes was removed from the United States on July 17 after serving 16 years in confinement.

Reyes entered the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident in 1990 but was later convicted of multiple crimes, including driving while intoxicated in 1995 and sexually assaulting his 12-year-old niece in Texas, resulting in her pregnancy and miscarriage in 2011. Forensic DNA testing confirmed with over 99.9% certainty that Reyes fathered the unborn child. A U.S. immigration judge approved his removal order in 2011.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “As the media and politicians continue to carry water for criminal illegal aliens who have committed indescribable acts of evil in our country, the brave men and women of ICE are arresting and removing the worst of the worst from the U.S.” She added that under President Trump and Secretary Noem, DHS is working to make America safe.

In addition to Reyes' case, ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents across the country have arrested other criminal illegal aliens with serious convictions:

- Edwin Jacobo Hernandez Mateo from Honduras was charged with raping and impregnating a minor under age 14 in Waller County, Texas.

- Juan Gabriel Zamorano-Gutierrez from Mexico was convicted of molesting a minor in Ontario, California.

- Edmundo Vasquez-Gaxiola from Mexico was convicted of aggravated indecent assault after repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl over several years in York Springs, Pennsylvania.

- Kelvin Civil from Haiti was convicted of inducing a minor for sex, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest in Taunton, Massachusetts.

- Elmer Breve-Sanchez from Honduras was convicted of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens in Del Rio, Texas.
