Houston man pleads guilty to fentanyl distribution conspiracy

A Houston resident, Velasquez-Nikki Saadia Porter, 36, has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge related to the distribution of fentanyl. This announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.

Porter admitted involvement in distributing nearly 200 grams of fentanyl from a motel room located in North Harris County. The investigation began in 2023 when authorities identified Porter as part of an operation focused on tackling fentanyl distribution and overdoses within the Houston area.

Porter managed a narcotics distribution point from the motel room, supplying fentanyl to customers. Sentencing is scheduled for October 2 before U.S. District Judge Charles Eskridge. Porter could face up to 40 years in prison and a maximum fine of $5 million. He remains in custody until the sentencing hearing.

The FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration led the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation with support from the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team. OCDETF's mission is to identify, disrupt, and dismantle major drug traffickers and criminal organizations threatening the United States through a coordinated multi-agency approach that involves federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stuart Tallichet prosecuted this case.
