The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has captured Andres Pineda-Mogollon, the last of four detainees who escaped from Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark, New Jersey. The apprehension took place in Los Angeles after a month-long manhunt.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin expressed gratitude to ICE agents and law enforcement partners for their efforts. “We are tremendously grateful to our brave ICE agents and law enforcement partners for capturing Andres Pineda-Mogollon and the other three dangerous criminal illegal aliens who escaped Delaney Hall," she said.

Pineda-Mogollon, an illegal alien from Colombia, was arrested on July 17, 2025. He had overstayed a tourist visa after entering the U.S. in 2023. Previously, he was arrested by the New York City Police Department for petit larceny and later by Union, New Jersey Police Department for residential burglary-related charges.

Another fugitive, Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez from Honduras, was captured on June 13, 2025, by ICE with assistance from the FBI and Passaic Police in New Jersey. His record includes unlawful possession of a handgun and aggravated assault.

Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada from Colombia attempted to turn himself into local authorities at the New Jersey State Police Bridgeton Station but was not taken into custody due to sanctuary policies. He eventually surrendered to FBI and ICE agents in Milleville, New Jersey.

Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes from Honduras entered the U.S. illegally in 2021. On May 3, 2025, he was arrested by Wayne Township Police Department for aggravated assault among other charges.
