A Johnston man, previously convicted for felony assaults involving the molestation of minors, has been indicted by a federal grand jury. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.
Jonathan P. Graziano, aged 41, faces charges of possession of child pornography following an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The investigation began after a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicated that CSAM was being distributed via a messaging application linked to an IP address at Graziano's residence.
A court-authorized search led to the discovery of hundreds of images and videos on Graziano’s personal electronic device. He is currently in federal custody following a criminal complaint filed on June 18, 2025, and is set to be arraigned on July 25, 2025. It is important to note that an indictment is merely an accusation and does not imply guilt.
Assistant United States Attorney G. Michael Seaman will prosecute the case. This investigation falls under Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through collaboration among various agencies.
