U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents have arrested Aneudy Jazzan Pérez-Santiago, a 30-year-old teacher from Carolina, Puerto Rico, on charges related to child exploitation. A federal grand jury indicted Pérez-Santiago on July 10 for coercion and enticement of a minor and transferring obscene material to a 14-year-old girl.
Court documents reveal that from February 2023 to February 2025, Pérez-Santiago used digital communication tools to persuade and coerce the minor into sexual activity and transferred obscene material to her.
Rebecca González-Ramos, HSI San Juan Special Agent in Charge, emphasized the role of parental supervision in this case. "A responsible father monitoring social media platforms discovered sexually explicit conversations between a teacher and their student," she stated. She also noted that the defendant misused his position as an educator and spiritual guide.
If convicted, Pérez-Santiago faces severe penalties. The charge of coercion and enticement of a minor carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment up to life, while transferring obscene material to a minor could result in up to 10 years in prison. Any conviction will be followed by supervised release ranging from five years to life.
The public is encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activities via the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE or through the online tip form. Additional information about HSI’s child protection efforts can be found at Know2Protect.gov.
