Bapchule man receives 20-year sentence for fatal stabbing

Daryl Patrick Johns, a 46-year-old resident of Bapchule, Arizona, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Douglas L. Rayes on July 17 and includes an additional five years of supervised release.

Johns, a member of the Gila River Indian Community, pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder on November 1, 2024. He admitted to stabbing and killing a victim on February 15, 2023, within the Gila River Indian Community.

The investigation was carried out by the Gila River Police Department along with the FBI Phoenix Indian Country squad. Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan from the District of Arizona in Phoenix prosecuted the case.
