The Executive Order includes measures to terminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the Federal government. President Trump emphasized that these steps are intended to ensure technology and policies serve the public rather than ideological agendas.
"President Trump is advancing trustworthy AI in the Federal government to protect the integrity of information and services provided to the American people," according to a statement from the administration.
The move also aims at reinforcing American leadership in AI development while maintaining an unbiased approach in its implementation within federal agencies.
"President Trump is terminating DEI across the Federal government and advancing American leadership in AI," said another part of the statement, underscoring his administration's focus on serving national interests over ideological pursuits.
