Jason K. Hairston, a 27-year-old resident of Charleston, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The plea was made in court today.
Court documents reveal that between September 13, 2024, and January 30, 2025, Hairston conducted four transactions involving approximately 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine for $5,000. He also admitted to selling around 61.3 grams of heroin on two occasions for $4,200 and an AR-style pistol for $1,000 during this period. These transactions were carried out with a confidential informant in Charleston.
On February 4, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Hairston's residence. They seized nearly two kilograms of methamphetamine along with other drugs and weapons including six firearms and various ammunition.
Hairston is set to be sentenced on November 6, 2025. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years up to life imprisonment and a fine that could reach $10 million.
The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston who praised the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for their investigative efforts.
United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston presided over the proceedings while Assistant United States Attorney JC MacCallum is handling the prosecution.
