U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer visited Atlanta as part of her America at Work listening tour, meeting with workers and discussing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Her stops included Georgia Power’s Klondike Training Center, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials’ 42nd Annual Conference, and a Coca-Cola bottling facility.

During these visits, Chavez-DeRemer emphasized the Trump Administration's focus on strengthening the American workforce through new legislation. She stated, “At every stop on my ‘America at Work’ listening tour, I hear from hardworking men and women like the Coca-Cola bottlers in Atlanta who are grateful to finally have a President who puts American Workers First, including through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The act includes provisions such as no tax on tips or overtime and expanded Pell Grant access for trade schools.

At Georgia Power’s Klondike Training Center, she observed training demonstrations for linemen and discussed how their Lineworker Entry Program provides essential skills for well-paying jobs. At NALEO’s annual conference, she highlighted how the new bill supports worker training programs that lead to mortgage-paying jobs.

Chavez-DeRemer also toured a Coca-Cola bottling facility where she learned about advanced technologies improving production efficiency. She stressed the need for upskilling workers in response to automation advancements. Additionally, she visited areas focused on Commercial Driver’s License training and fleet mechanics.

The America at Work tour will continue as Chavez-DeRemer gathers feedback from workers nationwide to inform policies aimed at economic growth and workforce development.
